The material, which is generated by living organisms, is used to form the enveloping shell of the chair, while the fabric used is both recyclable and made from recycled materials such as plastic bottles and packaging.
Each chair is composed of an aluminium frame that has been upholstered in technical fabrics by Sunbrella or Batyline, which have been selected for their durability in various weather conditions. This allows them to stay outdoors all year round.
The frame of the chair is made from stainless steel, while its seat and backrest are constructed from nautical polyester rope that has been handwoven into a tight plait by expert craftspeople in the Spanish town of Moixent.
The bench features a flexible spine that allows it to be configured into different positions. The seat is rendered in powder-coated aluminium, making it light and easily moveable, and available in an array of finishes including bone white, light grey or navy.
The light, which has an aluminium body and a blown-glass diffuser, features a perpendicular mount that allows the light to project directly downwards.
The steel legs are connected by two stainless steel support bars, while the tabletops can be screwed in from below. The tabletops are available in either FSC-certified pinewood or in a terrazzo-like recycled plastic sourced from hundreds of discarded yoghurt pots.
The door, which is characterised by its distinctive relief pattern, is set into a thin, lightweight aluminium frame and comes in various finishes including wood, leather and marble.
The chairs are composed of an aluminium frame with a seat shell made from either pure polypropylene plastic or pure PET felt, which enables them to be fully recycled. The tables, which are available in either wood veneer or laminate, can be used alone or pushed together for group work. The shelving comes in seven sizes and includes optional panels for privacy.
The finish, which features delicate veining of gold, caramel, sage and deep merlot red on an ivory backdrop, can also be used on countertops, tables and furniture.
The light is mobile and flexible in that it can illuminate items from different angles with the adjustable spotlight, negating the need for installation or ceiling tracks.
The range is distinguished by its distinctive flat surface and is available in classic chrome, matt black or a warm, brushed gold finish.
The collection of over 31 products, which comprises wall-mounted taps, floor-standing faucets for bathtubs and large shower heads, features a thermostatic module that allows users to control the temperature and save water.
Also designed by Barber Osgerby for Axor is the Axor Universal Circular Accessories range of bathroom accessories, which includes wall and shaving mirrors, soap dispensers, towel hooks and rails, shelving, rubbish bins and toilet roll holders.
The collection, which has been designed to match bathrooms of various styles, is available in a chrome or matte black finish, with other colour finishes being available on request.
